Artist Statement
My work combines animal ethology and human psychology by attributing human characteristics and behaviours to anthropomorphize historical artworks. Symbolically and metaphorically, animals project my self-awareness. Since childhood, my motivation for artmaking has been connected with my love for animals. By creating these detailed storytelling images, I invite my audience to look deeper, contemplate and connect with my emotions. Anthropomorphizing the subjects highlights the commonalities between animals and humans.
I employ a variety of techniques and styles to expand my artistic practice. Each character in my paintings represents different concepts in a fun and humorous way, encouraging viewers to imagine the stories behind my paintings and interpret the stories through their personal perspectives.
